The Society is run entirely on a voluntary basis and, as with any such organisation, we are always in need of extra hands. On the technical side, we are continually on the look out for anyone with basic electrical and computing skills who would like to join our projection team. And, of course, we are always in need of members who are willing to join our rota of stewards who help us to make sure everyone is safely and quickly seated and who know what actions to take in the case of an emergency.
We are also keen to expand the ways in which the Society can contribute to the needs of the community and would be delighted to hear from anyone with ideas as to how we could introduce the pleasure of film to the young, the disadvantaged, or in fact to anyone whose horizons could be widened by access to good cinema.
On occasions we invite a speaker with specialist film knowledge to talk to our members, from the stage, during the period between our two showings. This was very well received by members, so, if you have any particular aptitude yourself or know of anyone who could contribute, please get in touch with us.
